We, as full-time online marketers, typically work Monday through Friday each week. The Internet and social media sites hum along 24 hours a day 365 days a year. It makes sense then that we have to match our potential market’s schedule so we reach and engage the most people. So, it stands to reason that sharing your information using social media during Monday through Friday business hours will not reach the majority of your target audience! Or, is this not true?
I know, your first thoughts are probably, “What does a comedy with Jim Carrey have to do with brainstorming?” Especially when in this film his character has dissociative identity disorder (multiple personalities). I guess I was just having one of those moments when I sat down at my laptop and wanted to post about how our mind is a powerful tool and I didn’t want it to be another one of “those” boring mind posts. It just struck me as funny in the movie that Jim Carrey’s character, Charlie, was never alone when dealing with life’s dilemmas. He always had “Hank,” his alter-ego (whether he wanted his input or not). Life is very complex, never simple and straightforward. There are potholes, moments when we’re “under construction,” and there are times when even though it’s best for us, we do not want to “yield!” Fortunately for most of us, we do not have Charlie’s problems to add to the chaos.
I took a break from the “Making Money Online” Series. But, I was reminded last week by readers that it’s time to get back to it! The purpose of this post is to give new would-be online marketers an overview of some of the most important things they should consider prior to coming online; and to introduce the best straightforward newbie guide available today. So, before we move forward, let’s do a brief review of what’s been covered so far.
So you have this really great idea to start a blog on a particular niche. (Niche: a focused, targetable portion of a market). And, perhaps you even want to make some revenue from AdSense, Clicksor, or other contextual advertising. Hey, that’s great. You’ve put your heart and soul into posting your first few blog posts. Hopefully I can get you moving in the right direction again!
In my last blog post, I introduced you to some great analyzation tools to help you check your site performance and traffic. You can also see if there are any defects on your site. What do I mean by this statement? Part of my answer is that you can tell by how many times your web site visitors are requesting a certain file or page but they can’t find it on your server; what they’re looking for does not exist. This is an opportunity for customer service. What is your potential customer’s experience like on your site? In this post, I shall reveal some simple strategies to rectify this situation.
After you have set up your blog (I will be giving you specifics in another post should you need guidance on this subject), it will be important that you understand how to measure the results of your new online presence, popularity, and effective marketing techniques. You have laid the foundation, now what? The next step will be to set up your marketing and let the world know what you have to offer. There are many types and ways to market your products and services. If you are a network marketer or direct sales business, typically you will receive ideas and strategies from your upline or sponsors. After you have duplicated their methods, you then need to track how effective your marketing really is.
Hopefully you have carefully considered whether or not starting or operating an online business is right for you. Since you are reading this post, I am going to assume in the affirmative. The next step will be to decide what it is you want to do. As you saw in my last video, there are many industries to choose from. If you have written down what your interests are, next you should do research.

Personal development and spiders may seem like a strange contrast. Some people find spiders creepy. I think they are extremely fascinating. They rid my garden of potentially dangerous insects, create magnificent works of art, and look absolutely beautiful in the sunlight.
Most spiders tend to live one or two years. They live in a variety of habitats. Definitely predators, finding and capturing prey.
A short time ago, I did a post about “Leave Corporate America… for Good!”. I know that change can be scary, but it can also be a refreshing, new experience. I still find even though it makes sense to some people to transition to an online business, they need a little coaxing to get up off their butt and take action! Sometimes the reason they haven’t done it yet is because they just don’t know what to do to make that happen. That’s what I’m here for!
