Leave Corporate America; For Good!

(WARNING: This video contains the sound of cicadas [diceroprocta olympusa] and really takes place outdoors. May not be suitable for some sensitive viewers). My attempt at humor!
When I was young, I was taught that I needed a good education that would lead to a good job. Then, if I saved my money, I would buy a home. This would be the biggest investment in my lifetime. Then, when I was old, I would have a good pension and a home free and clear. Somewhere in there, I would also marry well and have a family. Most of us from that generation were taught the very same thing. Education — job — home and family — retirement. Today, that sounds like a fairy tale! There is absolutely NO job security whatsoever! Is it any wonder that over 150,000 people a day come online to make a living? These are serious statistics that deserve a closer look.
There are some good things about being a W-2 employee or “having a job.” Your taxes are usually taken out of your paycheck, you can look forward to a regular pay day, and often employers offer benefits packages at a discounted premium. Some also offer to deduct some of your pay for a savings plan, like a 401K (if you still believe that’s a good place for your hard-earned money to grow). For some people, this is all they desire. It is a way of life they have grown accustomed to; it’s comfortable. Most of us, however, hate the daily grind and the restrictions imposed upon us with this type of lifestyle! I was born to be an entrepreneur! Ever since I was in high school, I knew I didn’t want to be like everyone else. I just wouldn’t settle for being average. It actually took me quite awhile to figure out what I was really good at and what I wanted to do with my life. After much contemplation, I came to be here.
What is it about having an online business, being a network marketer in particular, that so many find attractive? Since I am here representing your best interests, I will not be stating that you will “get rich quick,” or that you will “be wealthy spending just 10 minutes a day.” I also will not romanticize the idea of being a network marketer. Just like anything worthwhile in life, it will take planning, dedication, goal setting, investing in a good mentor or coach, and always learning, sharing and growing. This will be a journey of personal development, a process or an evolving from a corporate mentality of “claw your way to the top” — to one of complete selflessness and compassion for your fellow man or woman.
Okay, now that we’ve covered that it will take perseverance, passion, and spending some money to invest in your business, why do it? Ask any network marketer what gets them out of bed in the morning? What drives them to understand the fundamentals of being successful online? Why do they hone their writing skills, attend webinars, and are willing to have to learn an entirely knew way of thinking and living? Nine out of ten will tell you the same thing; for the love of their family — wanting the very best for their spouse, their children, and anyone else they desire to help and assist along the way. There is no income ceiling, no one to report to but yourself! And the competition? Non-existent! The only one you will be competing with is YOU!
The timing couldn’t be better for making a fantastic living by being a network marketer! Many people are out of a job or having to make a serious career change. While in some type of transition, more people than ever have more time to devote to the thought process of making choices that will impact their entire future… for good! If you want the freedom of working from home, from poolside, from wherever there’s a wireless network available, let me show you how it’s possible… from A to Z!

Linda, I really appreciate the encouragement! Videos aren’t my strength… yet! What I want to do is encourage everyone I can no matter what they’re choice for a business, no matter what industry or method they use. If they need a coach or cheerleader and they’re an honest hard-working person, I will be there for them!
I look forward to reading your posts!

Wisdom, Deborah! At this point in my life I can’t imagine having only one income stream. That would feel too insecure for me. Thanks for sharing your insight! Your site looks great!

Hi Deborah,
I love the fresh feel of your blog…very unique! I see we both like green
I so agree about the problems we encounter as we reach retirement. I have a degree, and I am fairly typical in my concerns. That is exactly why I entered the network marketing field, just like you. I am so grateful to have found this opportunity, and grateful to be meeting people like you!

Carolyn, I’m glad you understand my position on this. We each have to make the best choices possible for our families and ourselves. Today’s world is very chaotic at best. In order to achieve the stability we need, it takes courage, introspection, and perseverance. Some days, it takes everything you’ve got and then some to keep things moving forward! I appreciate your example!

Hi Deborah,
Christine
I couldn’t agree more about what you stated in your video and in your post…too many of our generation (and definitely the generations before us) were raised on the same belief about education, great job, great family & then you’ll have a great life. I just can’t buy into that way of thinking. It can be tough, there are good & bad days, yet I would not give up being an entrepreneur, owning my own business & having control over my choices and actions! Thanks so much for sharing & I look forward to reading your next post
